Pella Christian’s volleyball team has been on a roll as of late. The Eagles are 17 – 9 on the season, and perhaps even more impressive, they are 4 – 0 in a primarily Class 4A Little Hawkeye Conference. When they started the season, Pella Christian flocked to bigger tournaments, including Iowa City West and Ames. Coach Cindy Nikkel says her girls do have the ability to hang with these bigger schools, and that it’s just about gaining the confidence knowing they can do as such. Pella Christian earned a first round bye in the regional brackets, which could set-up a rematch in the semifinals with Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont, who is in the same half of the bracket as the Eagles. Pella Christian is off until Thursday when they host Knoxville for a non-conference match.
