The Pella Fire Department responded to a house fire on this morning.

Assistant Pella Fire Chief Joel Braafhart tells KNIA/KRLS news that the fire started in the basement at approximately 11:40 a.m. The lone person inside the home was able to get out immediately when she noticed flames coming from the basement. Pella Rural Fire, Pella Police and Pella Ambulance also assisted at the scene at 308 Cedar Drive in Pella. Nobody was injured in the fire and the cause remains under investigation.
