Grand Theater Knoxville
To sprinkle or not to sprinkle? That was the question posed to the Knoxville City Council Tuesday night during a special work session discussion regarding sprinkler systems.

While the discussion was started due to a request by the Grand Theater Foundation for a waiver of needing a sprinkler system, any decision by the city council could have ramifications throughout the downtown square. After much discussion, the council decided more research into sprinkler systems was needed.

The issue is expected to be revisited by the city council later this month.

Also during the special session, the city council agreed by a 3-2 vote to allocate an additional $8000 over the next four years to the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame and Museum for their “Expand The Dream” Project. The money was requested by the museum to help with their Vision Iowa grant application
