Being a firefighter and Emergency Medical Technician is hard but rewarding work.

Knoxville Fire Chief Jim Mitchell says his department serves approximately 15,000 people at his best estimate and they keep busy with all the calls for fires, medical conditions, and transports to other facilities around the state. He says the Knoxville Fire and Rescue can always use additional manpower.
