They were the favorites going in, and the Pella High boys’ and girls’ cross country teams each left Dallas Center – Grimes with a conference championship last night. The Little Dutch outran the pack, scoring 40 team points to beat second place Grinnell by 13. Ben Warner was the fastest Dutch, coming in third, with Nick Bernhagen behind him in sixth. Tess Roorda led the charge for the Lady Dutch, finishing fourth, with Ciara Buchheit coming in fifth. Pella’s girls had a team score of 39 to beat Grinnell by 21. Pella is off until next Thursday for the State Qualifying meet in the Tulip City on Central’s cross country course. Full results are below.
