Pella Regional Health Center has been preparing for the potential spread of the Ebola Virus.

Quality, Safety, and Risk Management Advisor Shawna Forst says they are using similar practices to the recent outbreak of H1N1, and that they have been working with Marion County Public Health and the CDC to determine the best practices in treating patients and keep hospital staff safe. Infection Control Practitioner Jen Henely says they will gather information from patients as they come in and make determinations on a case to case basis. Henely says there’s a very small fraction of the population at risk for the disease, and there have been no confirmed cases in Iowa.
