Early Voting

The latest Marion County numbers are showing nearly half the number of absentee ballots requested in the county have been by Republicans.

The GOP has requested 48 percent of the more than 5600 absentee ballots recorded as of October 20th, according to Marion County Auditor Jake Grandia. 32 percent of the ballots have been requested by Democrats while 20 percent have a different or no party affiliation. General elections do not require voters to declare a party affiliation, as is required with primary elections.

The county has already surpassed their total of 4900 absentee ballot requests from four years ago during the general election. And there’s still just over a week to request one. The final day to request an absentee ballot through the mail is Friday, October 31st.
