Republican Second Congressional District candidate Dr. Mariannette Miller-Meeks brought Barbara Grassley, wife of Iowa U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley on a visit to the Knoxville-area Monday.

The two received a tour of Knoxville Hospital and Clinics expansion project. Mrs. Grassley was impressed with the hospital and the project saying that trying to stay current with modern technology is a benefit to the community.

Dr. Miller-Meeks believes it’s important for rural areas to have access to top-notch health care.

Dr. Miller-Meeks and Grassley also visited 8th graders in Pleasantville later in the day.

Dr. Miller-Meeks will soon be making another visit to Knoxville, this time with Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley and former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina. Fiorina was a Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate out of California and has often been mentioned at the Dixie Gebhardt House on Friday beginning at 9am.
