Ernie Smith has been named the Nebraska-Iowa District Kiwanis International Layperson Of The Year.

He was presented with the award last week. Smith was the project chairperson for the Young’s Park Miracle Playground which had its ribbon-cutting earlier this year.

The playground is accessible for handicapped children from ages 2 to 12, and includes a swing set and a sand table for the kids to enjoy.
