Authorities are looking for a suspect involved in a rollover crash near Bussey Thursday evening.

It happened around 7pm in the 2400 block of Highway G-71 west of town. Marion County Sheriff Jason Sandholdt tells KNIA/KRLS News a 16-year-old driving a 1993 GMC Sonoma attempted to avoid a collision with a 4-wheeler that swerved in front of him when he lost control and rolled the vehicle.

Witnesses told the Marion County Sheriff’s Deputy on scene that the operator of the 4-wheeler briefly returned to the accident, but then turned and fled into Mahaska County.

The 16-year-old was transported by Bussey Fire and Rescue to Knoxville Hospital and Clinics to be treated for minor injuries.

The driver of the 4-wheeler remains at large. Anyone with information on the accident or the suspect’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
