Literally putting the team on his back, Central Decatur quarterback, Trenton Wells carried his Cardinals to the second round of the Class 1A playoffs on Monday, as Pella Christian fell 38 – 14 last night, in a game that was live on 92.1 KRLS. Wells rushed for 292 yards on 39 carries, and threw for another 110. Assistant Coach, Darryl DeRuiter says the big key was the Eagles lost the battle up front. Turnovers did the Eagles in, as quarterback David Kacmarynski threw three picks while passing for 230 yards in the loss. Dillon Branderhorst had a rushing and receiving touchdown for Pella Christian, who ended their season with a mark of 6 – 4. Pella Christian loses nine seniors from their varsity squad.
