Being one of the key players back on a still young team, Pleasantville girls’ basketball standout, Kennedy Core, will be looked upon to lead her Trojans this season. Core is expected to lead this team on and off the court, and head coach, Aaron Fichter, says that you don’t have to tell her twice; she’s been doing that since she stepped into the gym as an underclassman. The Trojans fell to Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont, 89 – 56, and Core scored 20 of her team’s points. Fichter tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that in the past, had Kennedy bucketed 20 in a game, the total team score was usually not much more than that. Eight other players contributed to the scoring column for Pleasantville in that loss last week. The Trojans continue their season on Tuesday at Melcher-Dallas.
