A big reason for the success of the 2014 Pleasantville football team was what happened defensively. Through ten games, the Trojans forced nearly 30 turnovers, recorded two shutouts, and, if you take out a 61-point production in their loss to Mount Ayr, allowed an average of just under 16 points per game. Coach Gabe Bakker says he was pleasantly surprised by how well the “D”-unit played. Pleasantville finished 5 – 5 on the year and will be less eight seniors for the 2015 season.
