A laundry list of Central names adorned the 2014 men’s and women’s all-Iowa Conference team lists for soccer this past season. On the men’s side, senior forward Aleksandar Glavas was chosen to the second team. He led the Dutch in assists with four, in points with 12, and in shots on goal with 18, and in a few other categories. Zachary Butters, Dennis Forrest and Mark Hentschel were all honorable mentions for the 5 – 13 Central men’s soccer team. The women had all sorts of honors after their remarkable season. Defender Liz Daniels, forward Brittany Hinton and goalie Sydney Lunardi all were picked to the first team. Abby Hillmer was on the second team, while Kayla Sunvold received an honorable mention. The cherry on top of the accolades is head coach, Mike Kobylinski, was named the coach of the year for Iowa Conference women’s soccer. Central finished with an 11 – 4 – 4 overall record and a mark of 5 – 1 – 1 in the league.
