An overtime goal from freshman Abby Hillmer propelled the Central women’s soccer team to their first ever berth in the Iowa Conference tournament championship game after they beat Luther yesterday on the pitch, 1 – 0. Goalkeeper Sydney Lunardi was tested, having to stop 12 shots on goal en route to the Dutch’s 11th shutout of the season in 18 games. Central is 11 – 4 – 3 on the season and they move on to play Dubuque on the road on Saturday in the championship game. The Dutch beat the Spartans, 1 – 0, back on October 11.
