Cooking a Thanksgiving turkey has become more and more creative over the years and also more dangerous.

Knoxville Fire Chief Jim Mitchell wants citizens to be smart when it comes cooking their turkeys, especially when using a deep fat fryer. He warns to make sure your turkey is completely thawed before putting it in a fryer, otherwise it could explode.

Also, check your oil levels to avoid overflow and ensure your turkey is the appropriate size for your fryer.
