One runner that helped the boy’s side of the Knoxville Cross Country Squad was Sophomore Chase Larson.Larson’s story is rather unique because last spring you would never have thought he would be running by the summer. Larson suffered a serious led injury that cut short his soccer season and was in a cast and on crutches for several weeks. Coach Michael Splavec tells KNIA/KRLS Sports former coach Mike Moats suggested that he try to get Larson to come out for the team. Splavec says he did not have to do much convincing…as Larson showed up on his own the first day of practice. Larson and fellow runner Cade McNeill formed a nice one/two punch that led the Panthers all season. Splavec says he returns all of his varsity runners for 2015.
