Pella Regional Health Center is encouraging members of the community to be proactive about memory health.

There will be free, confidential memory appointments screenings throughout the month of November. A health care professional administers the screening, which consists of a series of questions and tasks, and takes approximately ten minutes. Speech Therapist Kayla Jiskoot says often times it’s tough for primary care physicians to spot issues with memory because they don’t see patients frequently enough. Memory screening is not a test for dementia and results are not a diagnosis. Appointments can be schedule with Rehabilitation at Pella Regional by calling 641-628-6623, again, that’s 641-628-6623.
