What’s quickly become a rivalry as of late, Pella High football hosts Washington in the Class 3A state quarterfinals, with a trip to the UNI-Dome on the line. The Little Dutch come in healthy and with what Coach Jay McKinstrey calls a motivating factor for tonight’s game. Washington started the season 2 – 3 on the year, but have won their last six straight, including a 46 – 20 beating of Carlisle on Monday. McKinstrey says the Demons are a much improved team from when they met in Week One of this season way back in late September. Jacob Hennigan, who started the season as a wide receiver, has rushed for 1,005 yards the last four games, and 1,116 during the Demons’ current six-game winning streak. Tonight’s big game will be live on 92.1 KRLS and streamed live at KNIAKRLS.com. Cory Houser and Randy Sikkema will be in the press box for the play-by-play, with Andrew Schneider back on the sidelines for reporting duties. Our coverage starts with a live-on-location edition of the Jeromy Dingeman Concrete Football Friday Night Radio Preview Show at Pella High Stadium at 5:00 p.m., taking you up to the Midtown Tire Team pre-game show at 6:30 p.m. Kick-off is slated for seven.
