A special planning meeting is coming up in December to determine how to improve trails in Marion and Jasper Counties.

Sheila Navis, Executive Director of Iowa Heartland Resource, Conservation & Development, announced that the organization has been awarded two awards from the National Park Service’s Rivers, Trails and Conservation Assistance program. The awards provide technical assistance to develop a regional concept plan for multi-use trails. The planning process will consider trails from Marion to Jasper Counties, with the goal of linking all of Central Iowa’s trails. The meeting takes place on Tuesday, December 9th at 6:30 p.m. at PCM High School in Monroe.
