Nathan Leland Minard

Multiple charges are facing a Knoxville felon after a hit and run accident uncovered a weapon and a host of stolen items. 30-year-old Nathan Leland Minard was arrested Monday afternoon.

According to court documents, Minard was stopped by a Marion County Sheriff’s Deputy at the 1100 block of 160th Avenue in response to a hit and run call .

The deputy noticed the barrel of a camouflaged shotgun protruding from the driver’s side of the vehicle, then heard Minard rack the weapon multiple times. The deputy told Minard to exit the vehicle and put down the gun and Minard complied. While being taken into custody, Minard kicked the deputy.

Later, several stolen items were found in Minard’s possession. He’s charged with Theft, First Degree, a Class C Felony, Burglary Third Degree, a Class D Felony, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, a Class D Felony, and Assault on an Officer, among other charges.

A preliminary hearing has been set for Wednesday at 9:30am.
