The scoreboard operators were busy last night, but unfortunately not for the home team, as the Pleasantville girls’ basketball team fell to the visiting Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont Rockets, 89 – 56. Coach Aaron Fichter tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that his team was very balanced scoring-wise and was proud of their effort. Kennedy Core led the team with 20 points, with Sam Thompson scoring eight. Fichter also says foul trouble was an issue, but the girls that had to step up showed a lot of fight and he was happy with many things he saw on the court. The Trojans are 0 – 1 to begin the year, and they’ll play next on Tuesday against Melcher-Dallas.
