Jacob Edleman and Sam Apland each were chosen to receive different Iowa Conference honors for their performances last week. Edleman picked off two Bobby Brown passes in Central’s 32 – 25 win over Buena Vista on Saturday to increase his league-leading total to seven, and he’s second in NCAA Division III overall in that category. The senior was chosen as co-Iowa Conference male athlete of the week and the defensive football player of the week. Apland was picked as wrestler of the week for his 2014-15 season debut at the Harold Nichols Open at Iowa State University on Saturday. He went 6 – 2 in a meet that also included several Division I schools. Four of his six wins were against Division I opponents.
