At approximately 11:00 this morning, a Pella man traveling southbound on T-17 lost control of his Subaru, over-corrected, hit a ditch and apparently went end-over-end, finally coming to rest in a cornfield just south of the Des Moines River.

Marion County Sheriff Jason Sandholdt tells KNIA/KRLS News that the man was “very lucky,” and was transported to Pella Regional Health Center with apparent non-life threatening injuries. Clay Township Fire and Rescue, Knoxville Rescue, Marion County Emergency Management, and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene. The individual’s name has not been released.
