The Knoxville Police Department will be purchasing body cameras for officers early next year courtesy of a pair of recent financial donations made to the department.

Knoxville Police Chief Dan Losada says it’s a trending technology that his officers look forward to using and see what kind of benefits it will offer them.

Two anonymous donations from local residents were made to the Knoxville Police Department to allow them to purchase the cameras.
