A slow start was something the Central men’s basketball team was unable to overcome up in Wisconsin on Saturday, as they fell to La Crosse, 70 – 54. The Dutch shot just 29% from the field (9-of-31 shooting) in the first half, got down 14 – 0 before making their first field goal, and turned the ball over a season-high 21 times for the game. Colby Taylor was the bright spot for Central in the loss, turning in a double-double effort of 22 points and 14 rebounds. Central went 4-for-25 from beyond the arc, as they fall to 2 – 1 on the year. Their schedule does not get any easier; the Dutch head home for a game against Division III number-one ranked Augustana on Wednesday.
