There has been a noticeable change for the Pleasantville girls’ basketball team through seven games this season as compared with the same time frame in the 2013-14 campaign. Kennedy Core is still the team’s leading scorer, averaging 15 points per game this year, and the Trojans are 1 – 6, as they were a year ago. What are the differences, then, you ask? More girls are getting involved and it’s alleviating the pressure on the senior Core. Coach Aaron Fichter says after some early season inconsistencies, the girls are starting to click. Pleasantville averaged just five different scorers through the first half of their schedule last year, and so far this season, have consistently had around seven different names with tally marks next to them in the scorer’s book. The Trojan girls are off until January 6 to host Central Decatur.
