A Pleasantville man suffered a gunshot wound to the leg while deer hunting Sunday morning south of Knoxville.

37-year-old Joe Roff was hit in the leg by a slug fired at a moving deer by a member of his hunting party. The slug went over the crest of a hill before hitting him in the right calf.

Roff was taken to Knoxville Hospital and Clinics and later transferred to Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines where he was treated for a non life-threatening injury.
