Dominating does not begin to describe the night both Knoxville boys and girls basketball squads had against Clarke last night. The girls held control for most of the game and breezed to a 52-19 win over the Indians. The Panthers used a smothering defense to cause 27 Clarke turnovers. Meredith Cunningham scored 19 points to lead the way of the Panthers who are 4-0 on the season and 2-0 in South Central Conference play. The Knoxville boys put an even worse thrashing on Clarke 72-41. Knoxville blitzed the Indians 46-23 in the first half and invoked the 35-point running clock rule by the four minute mark in the third quarter. Coach Jeff Larson was pleased with his team’s all around play. Trent Davis had 17 points while Nolan Wallace contributed 15 points for Knoxville who is now 3-0 on the season and 2-0 in the conference. Knoxville has a trip to Chariton on Friday.
