They may not have ended 2014 the way they would have liked, but the Pella Christian boys’ basketball team has a lot to take away from how they’ve played through six contests. The Eagles are 5 – 1 overall and 2 – 1 in what is turning out to be a difficult Little Hawkeye Conference. They are also seeing production from several different players that can shoot the ball exceptionally well. Pella Christian’s boys are looking at a gauntlet of games on the other side of vacation break, with Albia, Norwalk, Grinnell, Dallas Center – Grimes, and North Polk all within an 11-day stretch, and all, save for their bout with the Comets, on the road. Coach Larry Hessing says the stiff competition is something he and his team looks forward to. Pella Christian will be at Albia on January 5 for a girls’/boys’ doubleheader.
