The Center for Disease Control and Prevention has been warning the country about a mutation to one of this years flu strains.

Marion County Public Health’s Judi Van Hulzen says it’s something they’re keeping an eye on. She says that although the mutated strain has not been detected in Marion County or any other parts of Iowa, it’s still something to be concerned about.

Van Hulzen encourages people to still get their vaccinations because it’s the most effective way to battle the flu. She says those who are the most vulnerable to influenza are pregnant women, infant children, and the elderly.
