Racheal Lynn Van Alst

Felony theft and drug charges have been entered in Marion County against an Oskaloosa woman.

34-year-old Racheal Lynn Van Alst was arrested Thursday for Second Degree Theft, a Class D felony, three counts of Possession of a controlled substance, and one count Unlawful Possession of a Prescription Drug, among other charges.

Van Alst was stopped by security at a Knoxville store for trying to leave with over $1,000 dollars worth of merchandise without paying.

When police went to search her, they discovered a prescription bottle with Van Alst’s name on the label that contained several different types of prescription medication. She was also found with more than a gram and a half of meth in her wallet.

Van Alst has a preliminary hearing set for Friday.
