The second part of the 2014 Deer Shotgun Season is underway today.

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources says that the state harvest is up 19 percent from one year ago due to warmer weather, and say those numbers will likely stay high due to the warm weather expected through next weekend. The DNR reminds successful hunters that they need to report their harvest either to the Iowa DNR website, by phone, or by visiting their local hunting license agent. After the conclusion of shotgun season on Sunday, December 21st, two will remain and run concurrently; Archery – Late Split and Late Muzzleloader both start on December 22nd and run through January 5th.
