It wasn’t even close. Pella High’s girls’ and boys’ basketball teams dominated Fairfield in the Tulip City on Saturday in a pair of non-conference games. The Lady Dutch prevailed, 59 – 38. Kiara Bradley bucketed 14 points to lead the attack for Pella’s girls, who are now 4 – 2 on the season. The Little Dutch were in total control of the Trojans in their 84 – 38 blowout win. A night after scoring 39 points in a loss to Grinnell, Isaac Naaktgeboren had just two points in a game where he did not play very much, because he quite frankly wasn’t needed. Ryan Van Wyk had 15 points, Will Warner tallied 18, Sebastian Baugh added 13, and Grant Judkins scored ten. Nine of Pella High’s 12 players scored in the win, which featured a 32-point third period effort, twice as many points as Fairfield put up in the first half combined. The Little Dutch improve to 3 – 2 on the year, and both teams have another non-conference test against Bondurant-Farrar coming up on Tuesday.
