The Pella Police Department has had a busy year in their call center, but they’ve seen a slight decline in traffic related incidents in 2014.

Chief Robert Bokinsky says they typically review year to year trends at the department this time of year. He says overall, the number of car accidents they responded to this year is actually down from an atypically high year in 2013. Bokinsky says they’ve received an increased number of calls to their dispatch center, and says the dispatchers have done a great job handling that on top of an increasing number of responsibilities.
