A Knoxville man facing multiple felony assault charges has asked to change his plea.

51-year-old Henry Clay Saul has been charged with three counts of felony Assault on a Police Officer, all Class D Felonies, one count Interference with Official Acts, also a Class D Felony, and one count each of Assault on Persons in Certain Occupations, Assault with Intent to Inflict Serious Injury, and First Degree Harassment.

The charges stem from an incident at Knoxville Residential on September 3rd where, according to court documents, Saul assaulted two staff members and two Knoxville Police officers, kicking one of them in the face. While in custody, Saul then reportedly assaulted a jailer on September 15th.

Saul was court ordered to receive a psychological evaluation and was found competent to stand trial. He’s schedule to be in Marion County District Court Tuesday.
