Overnight lows were the warmest on record in Marion County this past weekend.

The records of 43 degrees on Saturday and of 48 degrees on Sunday were set during an atypically warm weekend statewide, according to data provided by the National Weather Service, where many daily average temperature records were also broken. The high temperatures during the daytime on Sunday were about five degrees short of breaking the record of 60 set back in 1975. No records for warmth will be on the horizon in the near future, as daytime highs will hover around the freezing point through early next week.
