Kaylee Houston tied it up at the buzzer in regulation, Jenny Petersen and Megan Roush each hit clutch free throws in the extra period to help the Melcher-Dallas girls’ basketball team defeat Iowa Christian Academy last night in overtime, 42 – 38. Petersen wound up with 18 points, and Houston punched in a double-double with 11 points and 19 rebounds. The Saints’ boys showed improvement in a 57 – 45 loss to I-C-A. Chase Wetterling scored 23 points, and the Saints fall to 0 – 5 on the year, and the girls are now 3 – 3. Each team gets back at it on Tuesday against Mormon Trail.
