A critical early-season conference contest awaits both of Pella High’s basketball teams tonight when Grinnell comes by bus into the Tulip City for a doubleheader. The Lady Dutch lost a tough one to Ballard on Tuesday on the road, but hope to continue their early season conference surge after beating Dallas Center – Grimes last Friday. Pella and Grinnell split their two league games last year, with the home team winning each affair. Grinnell’s boys are 2 – 1, with the only setback being a five-point loss to Norwalk last week. The Little Dutch demolished the Bombers on Tuesday by 20-plus points, and Coach Mark Core says his team is going to have to play just as well, if not better, than that to defeat the Tigers. Tonight’s doubleheader will be live on 92.1 KRLS and streamed live at KNIAKRLS.com with Andrew Schneider and Randy Sikkema perched in the loft for the play-by-play.
