One of the main reasons that Knoxville switched from the Little Hawkeye Conference to the South Central Conference, was a competitive balance and play schools more the Panthers size. However, for boys basketball, Knoxville may be getting into a conference that is just as competitive. Two teams went to the state tournament last year out of the S-C-C, and both, Albia and Chariton, are looking for a return trip. Coach Jeff Larson tells KNIA/KRLS his team will definitely be more competitive with the conference teams this season…but nothing will be easy. Knoxville starts off with one of the conference favorites on Tuesday when the Panthers travel to Albia on Tuesday.
