Blood Drive Needs

Area blood banks are encouraging those who can give blood to do so due to critically low blood supplies.
Blood Bank Specialist at Pella Regional Health Center Eloise Seams says while roughly one-third of the population donates, she says less than ten percent do so. She says the blood is sorted into four parts when they arrive at a hospital, and used for different aspects of patient care. Regular donors of blood can give a unit every 56 days, or eight weeks.
