The Pella Christian Eagles completed a season sweep of the Oskaloosa Indians with a pair of road victories, with the girls winning 42-23 and the boys winning 71-42 on games heard live on 92.1 KRLS. With a rematch against crosstown rival Pella looming, the games acted more as tune-ups for both Eagles squads. Cailey Terpstra posted nine points and Brooke Mitrisin tallied eight. Girls’ coach Kevin Van Maanen says despite the big differential on the scoreboard, his girls are going to have to continue to shore up their fundamentals. For the boys, they were lead by Levi Jungling, who is stuck on automatic after a 28 point performance with four of Pella Christians eight threes on the night. Senior Ryan Van Kooten started for an injured Josh Posthuma and posted 11 of his own underneath. Coach Hessing says it was it’s team’s poise on the road the helped them blowout the Osky. The boys get back to .500 in the conference at 4-4 and move up to 10-4 overall, and the girls are up to 9-6 on the season.
