The Knoxville Girls Basketball Squad survived getting severely out rebounded and giving up many second chance points to Newton last night in a 55-49 win in overtime. Knoxville was saved at the free throw line going 25/37 from the line, hitting on 20 of those in the second half and overtime while Newton only attempted 16 for the game. Ashley Hawkshead led Knoxville with 19 points, the Panthers remain unbeaten at 8-0. The boys nearly pulled off the comeback of the ages. Down 19 points early in the third quarter, the Panthers chipped the lead down to four but got no closer in a 62-53 loss to Newton. Chase Larson led Knoxville with 11 points. Knoxville is now 5-3. Both teams will play Centerville on Tuesday.
