During a visit to the Pleasantville Volunteer Fire Department last week, Congressman Dave Loebsack talked to first responders about legislation he’s supporting that would provide them with tax deductions.

Assistant Fire Chief Aaron Hurt appreciates the efforts made by the government and says they take kindly to their efforts. He says while the tax deduction will help some, it won’t help all volunteer first responders.
Loebsack says the legislation he’s supporting would also help Volunteer Fire Departments and other public safety organizations recruit and retain volunteers.
