The final six games of the Little Hawkeye Conference schedule for Pella High and Dallas Center – Grimes begin tonight on the hardwood. Both schools have had fantastic seasons up to this point; the Lady Dutch have won nine straight, and are 6 – 0 in league play, including a 61 – 51 win over the Fillies in Pella on December 5. Katie Vander Molen had 22 points, and the Pella defense held D-C-G to just 18 first half points. Last Friday, the Fillies scored a season-low 38 points at home against Pella Christian, but enter play 10 – 4 overall. On the boys’ side, Pella hopes to topple the Mustangs for their ninth consecutive victory. The Dutch lost 54 – 47 in just their second game of the season to D-C-G, and though there has been a lot of time between those contests, Coach Mark Core says everyone will need to show up to play tonight. Tonight’s doubleheader will be live on 92.1 KRLS and KNIAKRLS.com, with Cory Houser and Randy Sikkema on the call starting with the pre-game at 6:00 p.m.
