The Pella City Council will review an increase of electric rates at their meeting tonight.
The council will hold the third and final reading of an ordinance that would bump up rates three percent in March due to an increase in cost of service from Missouri River Energy Services. If passed, the increase will potentially be the first of two, as another three percent increase would be considered in January 2016. City staff says they are absorbing nearly half of the cost due to strong revenues from current water services. The council meets at 7 p.m. at the Public Safety Complex on Liberty Street.
