It was another successful pair of “Hope” events for Pleasantville High School as they made their annual contribution to the fight against cancer.
Dena Burgett tells KNIA/KRLS News the Hope Wrestling Meet on Thursday and the Hoops for Hope basketball games on Friday earned nearly $8,000 total for the American Cancer Society. That surpassed the more than $5,000 raised during last year’s event.
The Hope Wrestling Meet also honored Coach Paul Gordon’s father, cancer survivor Ted Gordon and Coach Ted Meyers was honored by the Pleasantville basketball teams.
The basketball teams wore lavender jerseys this year to represent all cancers.
