Twin Cedars’ basketball had two very exciting games go their way last night at Mormon Trail. The Saber girls were down by two in the closing seconds, when Liz Rowley hit a big three to give her team the win at the buzzer, 48 – 47. Liz finished with 11, and Shyanne Denburger scored 15. The Saber boys defeated Mormon Trail, 70 – 68, thanks to a last-second lay-up by Otis Roby. The senior dropped in 26 points, and Trace Embray scored 20. Melcher-Dallas’ girls beat Diagonal, 45 – 31. Jenny Petersen had eight points and seven blocks, while Megan Roush tallied 21 points. Both schools enter the Bluegrass Conference tournament, which begins later tonight for the Sabers and the Saints.
