Mid-to-late February. That’s the expected time frame for construction to resume on the Downtown Streetscape project in Knoxville.

City officials received an update on the project during a meeting Wednesday. Knoxville City Manager Harold Stewart says the contractors are eager to get the project back underway.
The project calls for Main Street between Second and Third Streets and Robinson between First and Second Streets to be worked on at the same time at some point this spring to get it completed faster.
Bi-weekly meetings providing updates on the project will begin Tuesday, February 10th at 11am. They’ll be held at City Hall and the public is welcome to attend.
Hawkeye Construction hopes to begin work on February 19th or 20th on Main Street. They say the schedule is weather dependent but expect better conditions to start than previous years.
Stewart says their goal is to have Streetscape completed in time for Nationals in August.
