Saturday night was alright for fighting for the Pella High wrestling team. Two school records went down, and the Little Dutch placed third as a team at the Williamsburg Invitational. Chase Petty won his weight class and set a new school mark for career wins. The previous record was 114, and he finished the night with 118. Jake Speltz was the other Pella High champ, and he set a new record for pins in a season, which was at 24, with 25, and there’s plenty more matches still left to go this year. Coach Joe Burch tells KNIA/KRLS Sports his team had multiple place-winners and looked really good on the mats. The Little Dutch are next at it on Thursday in a quad meet at Grinnell with ADM, South Tama, and the host Tigers.
